THURSDAY, MARCH 11
Race 1
SUDDENLY PERFECT looked sharp winning last time out, ran well in each of his two previous starts here at Turfway, and rates a slight edge. YAROSLAV takes a big drop in class in his first start back since December where he ran some solid races at Woodbine. A return to that form makes him the one to beat here. CHARLIE TRUMPER was eased and vanned off as the odds-on favorite two weeks ago. He was on the vet's list for the minimum six days and is allowed to run back this afternoon.
Race 2
DIANNE'S CHOICE drops to this bottom level in her first start since June, when she went wrong at Philly. She shows some decent works at Keeneland recently and looks best against a weak field. MISTY MOMA was third against similar last time out and is a threat. DOUBLY FUNNY has a chance.
Race 3
BE A PRINCE comes in off a nice second place finish at this same level last time out and figures to be running at the end again today. Give him a slight edge here. RUNNINFORROB drops in class in his first start since October and has to be considered. FIORE DE hasn't received much respect at the windows but has run well in his last three starts over the track and is a contender.
Race 4
RAEDONALD ran well in his first start back after a long layoff and probably bounced last out. Look for a much better performance today. CALLINGTHEWEATHER has been second in three of his last four starts and should like the added distance. KATZMETIC ran a nice third against a solid field last time out and would be no surprise here.
Race 5
ROBYN'S DREAM shows solid efforts against slightly tougher fields in each of his last two starts here at Turfway. He has the tactical speed to be well placed throughout and is the choice for the win against a well matched field. TRICKY CHIEF comes in off a nice second place finish against similar last time out and is definitely the one to beat. G AREYOUKIDDING has been right there in each of his last six starts but has never been able to win at six furlongs.
Race 6
STACIE'S SMILE has won three of her last four starts coming in to this one and is the choice for the win here. PRINCESS WESTLY ran a solid third against a decent field last time out and was impressive winning here before that one. She figures to be in a good spot just off the pace today and is a definite contender. COUGAR NIGHT has a chance.
Race 7
FIVE STAR THIEF comes in off a decent effort against a tough starter allowance field last time out. He was second best behind an impressive winner before that one and looked sharp winning here three starts back. Give him the edge on the move back down in class. CUB'S POWER was third as the even-money favorite a week ago and looks like the one to beat again today. STEP TO THE MUSIC is inconsistent but capable of winning here if at his best.
Race 8
FLEET FRANCIS comes in off a nice win in her first start over the track after having been off since September. She figures to be running at the end in a race that should have a quick pace and rates a slight edge with McKee back in the irons. SCARA BRAE has been worse than second only once in her last seven starts. She has the tactical speed to be well placed throughout and is the one to beat. APPLE PANDOWDY was third against a solid field last time out and looks dangerous here with Mojica back aboard.
Race 9
BABY BOPP'S saddle slipped last out after she was bumped soundly leaving the gate. She still managed to run evenly in that one and rates the edge in a well matched maiden claimer. ALIVILA didn't show much last time out but should like the move back around two turns and could add value to the gimmicks. HIGHLAND PRIDE was second at this level last time out and is a definite contender.
FRIDAY, MARCH 12
Race 1
BEARCAT DAVID shows two solid efforts in each of his last two starts here at Turfway and is the choice to pick up the maiden win tonight. LITTLE LUCK didn't show much as the favorite at Mountaineer last time out but ran a nice race here before that one and is a contender. TIME FOR THE POSSE has a chance.
Race 2
NEWFOUND STAR comes in off two decent efforts against similar here at Turfway and is the choice for the win in a lightly race field. CALL INTERSEPTED didn't show much in her debut but should improve off that one and has to be considered with Pompell back in the irons. JOLAINE is a threat.
Race 3
COSIMO faced multiple winners in his last two and rates the edge in this non-winners of two. QUIET I'M THINKING has run well over this track and is the one to beat. COSIMO faced multiple winners in his last two and fits well with these. MR SHOE FLY PIE has a chance.
Race 4
HOOLIHAN ran a game second last time out against a tough field in his first start since July. Any improvement off that effort would make him tough to beat here. CARSON'S PRIDE has the speed to be well placed throughout and should appreciate the shorter distance tonight. TURALLURE makes his debut for hot trainer Charlie Lopresti and shows some nice works at Keeneland .
Race 5
BREAK NEW GROUND had a rough trip in her Turfway debut and is capable of a much better showing tonight. INSTALL beat the top pick last out and figures to be tough to handle again in here. BUTTON DANCER has been second at this level in each of her last two and looks dangerous.
Race 6
FLYING WARRIOR has been idle since mid-December, when he was second best against a solid field here at Turfway. He's been training steadily since that one and is the choice to pick up the maiden win here. OLYMPIST shows two solid races in each of his two career starts and is a threat. PLAN AHEAD has been third in each of his last three and has to be considered.
Race 7
SURF BABE might not have liked the move around two turns last time out. She looked very sharp breaking her maiden here at Turfway before that one and is the choice for the win on the drop in class. TOUCH OF SUCCESS has shown some good form against tougher recently. She won't mind the move back to sprinting and looks like the one to beat. MONKEY'S MOONBEAM had to need her last after having been off for nearly a year. She drops in class and has to be considered.
Race 8
MY SPECIAL CRUSADE ran a game second against similar last time out. She figures to be on or near the lead again tonight and is the choice for the win. CURIE has been in the money in nine of her fourteen career starts and is the one to beat. KELLYWAIN shows two decent efforts in each of her two starts at Turfway and would be no surprise here.
Race 9
LUVANDGO drops in class after few decent efforts against tougher at Gulfstream. He ran well over the surface at Keeneland and looks like a solid bet to get the win for Maker and McKee. DOOKIE DUCK drops in class and could like the move back to sprinting. PASS THE VICE has a chance.
Race 10
CREEK GIRL has been off for nearly a year but shows some very sharp works for Maker leading up to her return. She hasn't run a bad race in any of her four career starts and a return to her previous form would make her tough to beat here. SEEKING REASON didn't fire last time out but has been out of the money only three times in ten starts and is the one to beat. LAURA'S CAT TALES was an impressive maiden winner in her first start back after a layoff of over a year.
Race 11
SIX SHOTS comes in off a nice win against a few of these same horses here at Turfway last time out. He should be able to handle the extra distance tonight and rates a slight edge in a wide open field. CURSESANDBLESSINGS is questionable at this distance but has been impressive winning two in a row and looks like a contender. FOR MEN ONLY hasn't shown much recently but gets in light with Creed and was second going longer at Ellis this summer.
Race 12
WILD SUNDAY comes in off three solid races against three tough fields and looks best in a well matched bottom claimer. BOB AND RICH loves the track here at Turfway and definitely has the ability to win here. PRAY TELL is a solid contender.
