SATURDAY, MARCH 20
Race 1
SCRIMP N ONTHENEWS has been in good form recently. He has the tactical speed to be well placed throughout and rates a slight edge here. TALLY UP didn't show much at Mountaineer last time out but should like the move back to Turfway, where he's won three of five starts. He might prefer to go longer but has a win at this distance and is the one to beat. SOCIETY LUCK won at this level two starts back and has to be considered.
Race 2
MUD CREEK drops in class after a disappointing effort as the favorite last time out. She won't mind the move back around two turns and is the choice for the win with Creed back in the irons. FOUR PAWS was no match for an impressive winner last time out but won impressively at this level two starts back and is the one to beat. FLATTER ME ROSE looks capable of running well here.
Race 3
CURIE has been in the money in each of her last ten starts and looks best against a soft field today. FANCY TIFF finished just behind the top pick last time out and is a contender. LITTLEBITOFSTORM has a chance.
Race 4
INDIAN PEAKS comes back on just six days' rest but still rates the edge against this bunch. IDE RATHER BE WILD shows two solid races in her last two starts and looks like the one to beat. GOLD FOR MY GIRLS exits the same race as the top pick.
Race 5
DETROIT'S DANCER ran poorly last out but prefers today's shorter distance and could spring the mild upset. TIME TO GETIT has been off since October but is training well and is definitely the one to beat. JACK GRANT was second best behind an impressive winner last time out and is a contender.
Race 6
PEARL RING faded after pressing the pace last time out but should appreciate the shorter distance today and rates a slight edge here. CONSUMED BY JEWEL drops in class and definitely looks capable of winning here. BELLE HARBOR could move forward in her second start back from the layoff.
Race 7
CURLY drops in class after a nice third place finish against a tough field last time out. He looked sharp winning here at Turfway before that one and will be running at the end in a race that should have a quick pace. His best could make him a winner here at decent odds. A ROGUE SNUCK IN has been beaten as the favorite in each of his last two starts and looks like the one to beat again today. COUNT ONE has won three of four coming in to this one and has to be considered.
Race 8
CLASSIC HARMONY ran well in both of his races and has the speed to be well placed throughout. He looks like he's in a good spot to pick up the maiden win. SWEET TALKIN FELLA was a distant third behind the top pick last time out but showed improvement in his second try around two turns and is a contender. I AM INDY has a chance.
Race 9: the March Madness Overnight Handicap
XELA didn't run a bad race going longer on the grass at Gulfstream last time out in his first start back since August, when he was in very good form at Presque Isle. He figures to be in a good spot just off of what should be a solid pace and rates a slight edge in a very well matched field. MITIGATION has been idle since late January when he won very impressively here at Turfway. He shows a series of very sharp works for Maker since that one and can definitely win here. FLAVOR was no match for a very impressive winner at Mountaineer last time out and didn't like the mile distance before that one. He looked very sharp winning the Forego back in December and is a threat
Race 10
GIMMESATISFACTION looked sharp wiring the field last out and is capable of the repeat score today. SLEWEY ARMSTRONG shows two solid races in his last two starts and looks like a contender. BEARSREADY fits with these.
Race 11
DALEY showed some early speed after a slow start in her debut and rates the edge in a weak maiden claimer. EMILY'S AIM has been idle since mid January but is the one to beat. DREAM MANAGER is a contender.
