In "Ground Control: The (REAL) Truth About Synthetic Surfaces," Bill Finley cites hard numbers and concludes, " . . . when it comes to fatal injuries, synthetic surfaces are considerably safer than conventional dirt racetracks." DRF-NTRA Contest LogoTurfway qualifier wins NHC XI
Brian Troop qualified at Turfway for the NTRA/DRF National Handicapping Championship in Las Vegas and on Saturday took home the national tournament's grand prize of $500,000. After making the required 30 mythical $2 win and place bets, Troop finished with $266, most of it amassed during his record-setting $232.60 run on Friday, the first day of competetion. Story.
